Life is shorter than we think. Which is a morbid premise for a comedy show. But then, the last couple of years have been pretty miserable, both globally, and personally for Kate Knott. This hour of stand up and song is a sweeping philosophical exploration of what makes us happy, and how we can all search for joy in a world that seems on a collision course with disaster. But it'll be funny too.
Kate Knott is a Sydney comedian and improviser. She has performed musical improv for several years as part of Unplanned Melodies, and has been performing stand up sporadically but with growing enthusiasm since 2019. In 2021, along with Angie Bradburn, she created ‘Two Hats’, an hour of sketch and song as part of the Laugh Outta Lockdown Festival. At this year’s Sydney Comedy Festival, she and Angie collaborated with Danii Jo to perform ‘All Groan Up’, a stand up show about adulthood. ‘How To Be Happy’ is her first solo show.
“Kate […] hosted punters cleverly and wittily on a super duper sketch flight of comedic proportion.” - Sydney Scoop
